EMS Adjunct Instructor

Rappahannock Community College (RCC), founded in 1970, provides high-quality educational and training opportunities throughout a 12-county service region an hour east of Richmond on the beautiful western shore of the Chesapeake Bay with access to fresh local seafood and water activities. RCC delivers accessible and affordable educational opportunities, including for-credit transfer and career technical programs, robust distance education coursework, quality dual enrollment courses, and award-winning workforce training and credentialing programs. RCC’s annualized enrollment of 3,700 credit students in 2024-2025 and almost 800 workforce and community development students are supported by almost 140 full-time employees and over 200 part-time/adjunct employees across two main campuses and four satellite sites.

RCC seeks applicants for EMS Adjunct Instructor positions. This position is part-time. The general responsibilities of the EMS Adjunct Instructor is the skillful and knowledgeable delivery of EMS program content to include classroom and laboratory teaching, national testing preparatory work and involvement in the placement of students in field experiences. This position reports to the EMS Program Head and to the Dean of Health Sciences. Adjunct faculty may teach a maximum of the equivalent of 10 workload credits in fall and spring semesters and eight workload credits in the summer term. Teaching assignments are negotiated with the Dean of Health Sciences to include campus, hours of instruction and teaching load. Day, evening and weekend teaching options may be available to accommodate the faculty’s schedule.
